Etching is a great way to further enhance your designs
Learn how to etch patterns onto metal using the press and peel method. Press & Peel is a heat transfer which you can print onto and then transfer your design onto metal. This special transfer acts as a resist when the metal is in the acid. Press & peel is a very effective way to achieve accurate clean etched designs.

The press & Peel method requires some form of photo editing software such as photoshop and a laser printer. So please bear this in mind when you come to do this in your own workshop.
The class lasts around 3hrs and costs £130 you will be etching onto copper blanks. If you wish to etch onto silver please let Karen know when booking and silver can be arrange for you at a small extra charge. You are also welcome to bring your own metal if you prefer.

During this workshop Karen will discuss and demonstrate all the equipment needed as well as guiding you through the various steps, with tips and tricks to help you effectively etch your own patterns and textures onto metal.
Please note you will be making samples during this class and not a finished piece of jewellery.

Please also note etching involves working with acid. An apron, eye protection, gloves and mask will be supplied during the class and must be worn at all times when metal is in the acid.
